Goals and New Years Resolutions

Check out my Goals Corner. It’s right where I see it ten times a day so that inspiration can rain down.

I have a stack full of goals written down that will be put up today.

I think it’s a good idea that will lead to some good, positive outcomes.

I’ll post a finished picture later!

Total Failure

Total Failure

I have the goals….. I wrote them down…..I made them numerical so that I could keep track. Everything was ready.

Except me.

New Years day arrived and I had the biggest false start you could imagine.

Tomorrow, it’s on. Bring on the Juice Fast, the exercise and the entire lot.

Hope you did better than me!

Day One Is A Success

One day down for the run to work experiment. I think it’s going to work! My head’s already swirling with how I can start swimming laps or perhaps adding in some cycle to the mix. After running to the gym in the morning, working out and then running back home after work body was protesting……let’s just say I fell asleep the instant my head hit the pillow. Maybe before.

I can’t wait to see how this will affect the weight/body image! Time to get some goggles….

Would You Ever Do a Full IronMan?

I have been reading You Are an Ironman: How Six Weekend Warriors Chased Their Dream of Finishing the World’s Toughest Triathlon by Jacques Steinberg the past week and have found it to be an inspirational story, It tells the experiences of six average people who decide to undertake Ironman Arizona. The book chronicles their ups and downs both physically and emotionally over a course of the year prior to the big race.

I found the book vary inspiring and it only reinforced my desire to the Full Ironman…….someday.

(Might want to get a bike first…)

Have you ever wanted to undertake an Ironman?

This Is Your Life

I’ve been batting around ideas about how to start this blog and found inspiration today in a song.  It’s “This is your Life” by Switchfoot. The chorus to the song is “This is your life, are you who you want to be……..?” Needless to say, it got me thinking.

Now don’t get me wrong….I have a great life with wonderful kids, an amazing wife….steady job, etc.

But, there are a few things that I don’t like.

First, the extra pounds around the middle that just will not go away and how it’s always tomorrow that I’ll begin exercising. Next, my cholesterol is……high.  My doctor wanted to put me on cholesterol medication but I wanted to try something else first. I don’t want to be yet another heart attack victim. Lastly, my finances.  My family has been renting a house for years and would love to buy. But, since it seems that there is always to much month at the end of the money a down payment seems like a dream.

The song says “This is your life, are you who you want to be……..?”

Not yet but I’m working on it.
